Got out the other day on the boat and had a pretty good day on the water. Fish were very picky. Went through a few baits until I figured out what made them click. The bite was extremely light. You couldn't feel it at all. I love chasing these spotted fish around! Made for a pretty solid fish fry! Anyone else still getting them? Thought I was done with the boat but the weather looks great again this weekend! Not bad for mid December!

..this morning before first light I heard a few passing through ..then at 7:30 had one come in and eat apples and I didn't wanna shoot it in hopes of still seeing a deer before 9am...then at 830 another one came through and I had enough at this point so I gave him a shwacker to the throat lol...also is a pic of a 6 pack of coywolfs in 89a...pretty crazy 

You shouldn't have to grind etc., just give them the meat and let them do their thing. I've tried pepperettes from a lot of different places and none as good as Gourmet Meats in Mount Hope, bit of a drive but worth it.

With a break in action at school my son was able to make it to deer camp in NY this past weekend. Got down on Friday afternoon out in stand by just before 4, it was rainy and misty so not the best conditions, but just before last light two bucks crept out into the cut we were overlooking, a six pointer and eight pointer. Both were in long grass up to their shoulders with some bushes mixed in. The larger of the two was behind the six pointer, as soon as the eight pointer presented a shot he took it. The buck jumped and twisted around and ran off to the right into thick bush. We waited about 20 minutes before getting down. Looked for about 15 minutes for blood but because of the rain couldn’t find any sign whatsoever so started a slow search through the brush after about 45 minutes finally found it in a small stream tucked behind an undercut bank. . The .243 did its job, taking out its heart but still managed to run a good 80 yards or so. To the say the least we were happy to find it!
i shot a small five pointer on Sunday morning to break my season long losing streak. Did a lot of hunting this fall but seeing my son take that 8 pointer was definitely the highlight! 
 

It's too easy to pass up the does and small bucks at the beginning of the season. Just like going to a bar, everyone passes on the ugly girl at the beginning of the night but everyone is fighting over her at last call!

I have a Tactacam Reveal and it's been amazing. Super easy to set up. Only maybe 10$ bucks a month, and as soon as I fill my tags I suspend the account till next year. My third season with this camera . Unfortunately if someone wants your camera bad enough you will not stop them

I  have duck hunted this little bay during the 50's & there wasn't any housing there . Four residents of this housing complex have been charged with cutting down many trees and could face up to $194,000 in fines EACH . I thinks that is a little over exaggerated ,but it is a 'feel good' story for us to read ,
I have seen this scene a few times in this area of Martindale Pond , some trees cut down near the Henley Bridge and more at the three big houses on the west side of Rennie Park .
I'll bet the other residents at this  newer housing complex are happy to get a better view of the water , and it may help up the value of their homes .(waterfront  property) .Maybe they will all chip in to pay for the fines ?

Since it is city property they don't have that right to do what they want. 
They should have had the city involved first and/or applied for those permits to see the reason for rejection.

Went deer hunting with my crossbow to my cousin’s farm this morning.
Set up in an old brush turkey blind along the river tree line of a bean field.
After harvesting the beans it was planted with winter wheat that was now 3-4 inches high.
Didn’t see any deer, but omg the birds!
they started coming just after first light, so I started counting.
By 8:00 there were 109 geese and 27 turkeys (7 gobblers, 20 hens) within 200 yards of my blind.
4 different times I had turkeys walk by me less than 10 feet away.
It certainly was a memorable morning bird watching!!
 

Just back from this years hunt. Our gang of 8 guys harvested 5 Bucks this year. I was lucky enough to get one of them on Wed. morning. That makes 4 years in a row for me after a drought of 5 years. LOL ..............................Daniel

Some do and some don’t, just like any profession. 

Did ok this year.  Got him this morning after a two year drought.

I went 7 hunts without seeing a deer and the last 4 days there is a lot more activity especially bucks. Had deer cross the road while driving to or from hunting 4 times in the past week as well.

I wish events like this would get posted on this site ahead of time so we could participate

Anyone seeing rutting behavior?...I've been watching these two does with two fawns the last 3 sits...as you can see I some yellow apples on the ground and they are loving them....I put red ones out and they sat untouched for a week..weird...anyways hope to see a buck soon!...off to goderich for the controlled hunt next week as well...good luck guys

It's definitely fall and the panfish are frantically fattening up.  Had 3 hours of non-stop action.  No problem saving 2 dozen for a fry.

This is mine..
The months of June and July were slow for me unless I travelled way east to windmill point or crystal beach area. My boat is docked at sugarloaf.  August started heating up and September was “ FIRE”.  My go to all year was black and pink harnesses on riggers of dipseys. The 2 years before was all white wonder bread blades.  All in all a slow start and a very strong finish.

Had a nice group of 4 bucks show up on my camera last night! Been hunting my farm for 8 years and didn't know I had these guys lol. 

I wanna get out on Erie with some tubes. I would say anything goby/crayfish color would work great. 
 

Hoping for a mean nasty winter?  Not me.  The warmer the better. I hate the cold and I don’t ice fish….

Had this guy in the middle of the night. Hoped he would stick around for the morning but no luck.  

I got out this evening and had a small 8 pointer directly under my stand.
Antlers were polished white with no velvet.
Seems early for that?

Went out this morning with my dad, and we both ended up getting one each! Gonna be good eating in the air fryer.. just killing time till deer opener.
