Hit the Grand as the rain was dying off. Decided to let George land all the fish. Boy did she get a big surprise.

I thought with the delayed spring this year we would still see Bass nesting.Then again not much ice on Erie this winter.Probably try a different area next trip but I've got Buckhorn first.

The last one I hooked there decided it wanted to go north bound to visit T.O.  I was almost spooled out when the hook let go as it bent the hook straight . 
And they are high jumpers and strong fighters !

Fishing was slow yesterday at Port, I will try today again fishing the west side of the dam bouncing a jig.  Did see a guy land a small sturgeon and one jumped! Lucky for him that I was there to inform him it's a sturgeon and that the season is closed all year, fish was released otherwise there would be MNR on site lol. 

Law abiding people work  and  pay taxes , but  have to hire lawyers , ect. ect . to keep the court establishment rolling in dough ...

Spent opener on the canal (late post). Did alright for about 4 hours spent fishing. Got 5 pike and lost one with a couple OOS bass. All C&R.  
 

Hi everyone I haven’t been fishing since Covid started but want to get back into it again still trying to get a walleye but no luck. I need to get my license renewed first before I can get out and fish again.My father got some nice perch a few weeks ago down at the customs dock.

I catch silver bass in the upper all the time and love catching them and eating them such white meat!

I see some places in USA they allow 2 to 3 rods for catfish from shore.
It would motivate me more for sit and wait type fishing.
1 hour is my limit without a fish.

Well I finally got my first turkey this morning.
For 6 days I had been trying to bag a gobbler that was roosting in the south end of the main bush on the family farm,
but could never get him in range.
On Tuesday my cousin came down and we hunted together, and with us team calling he got that gobbler.
So this morning, I set up along the treeline above the river flats on the edge of a beanfield next to the Grand River.
Had 4 gobblers calling after daybreak, but none came out into the field - just 2 hens.
After they wandered off, 4 more birds came over a hill in the beanfield about 200 yards to the north, and 3 started fanning - 3 more gobblers!  None of these were the birds calling around me!
I made a couple of pairs of calls on my box call, and the biggest bird slowly walked all the way to me, with the other 2 following him - waited till he was about 35 yards out, and bang!😊

So many more gobblers in that area of the farm that I’m going to get a second tag.
 

Finally was able to get after some Brookies on Thursday. Picked up my Dad and best fishing buddy on the way and off we went. This is the first time in a long time that we've Brookie fished together and I'm so proud that he actually did it. Walking rivers ain't easy. Man, I love seeing how excited he gets and it becomes very clear to see where I get that excitement from lol. 

We ended up with three decent keepers and stocked up on a few Chubs for the ice season to use as tip up bait. I wouldn't say that this is the most productive day I've ever had brook trout fishing, but it was a great day for the memory bank regardless. 
 
  

Well, I got it done today in about 15 minutes.
I was wandering around the house this morning trying to figure out what to do today with the wet weather and said “screw it, @genec said they like the rain. i’m going to go sit in in my blind.” Got out of the house at about 9:15 and was set up and in the blind by 9:45. Waited about 5 minutes and hit the call with a few clucks and a purr. A gobbler sounded off right behind me. I figured he was close so i gave a few soft purrs and he came walking right into the decoys. I made the shot with the crossbow at 20 yards and he went straight down. Game over. 
22 lbs, call it 9 3/4” beard although one strand may be 10, and 1 3/16 spurs.

Had the turkeys come through on schedule sadly they look a wrong turn away from my decoys and went to feed in the next field. Thank god for blinds today. Didn’t respond to a single call! 

Hey guys! Got it done this morning!!! Got my first ever bird at 7am right on the dot! Am working afternoons this week and Got done at 11pm last night went home and woke up at 445am to get out there. Was a beautiful chilly morning had 3 does come in around 630am, heard a few Tom's gobble. I looked over and saw a Tom walking in slowly to my decoys, didn't call at all today just set up my decoys.. he was so focused on the hen decoy and that's when I got him one shot and fell down, I'm so thankful to harvest my first ever bird.
