For Immediate Release August 25, 2004 PRO ANGLERS VIE FOR $100,000 AT ONTARIO PLACE Toronto, Ontario: Every so often, there are sporting events that change perspectives and leave lasting impressions. The Mercury Canadian Fishing Tour Ontario Place Open on September 24, 25, and 26 is an event that will change how we look at competitive fishing forever. The CFT Ontario Place Open is a Pro Am event that will feature Pro anglers such as Bob and Wayne Izumi, and Rocky Crawford being paired with future fishing stars in a chase for a $100,000 first place prize. The professional angler with the highest 3-day weight of bass from Lake Ontario will take home a brand new Triton 215 Walleye Series Boat with a 225 HP Mercury Outboard, trailer, and $40,000 cash. The anglers will compete in teams of two and will fish from high-powered bass boats that will help them travel quickly to the hottest fishing spots. All of the bass caught that weekend will be live-released via the Shimano Live Release Boats after each day of competition. Kids Can Win Too Not only will the Pro Anglers take home prizes. Families can participate in the Children’s Canadian Fishing Tour Derby slated to be the biggest event of its kind in Canada.
