smerchly
As they say , "back in the day" when I was a 22 year old grasshopper fisherman (yes we caught trout on grasshoppers) , Port Dalhousie was our fishing hole and the east side was our girlie days where we went to Michigan Beach for the day . There was a french fry stand and lots of sand . Ships would unload the sand in huge piles about 50 yards from the lighhouse at the beach. I have been looking at many spots I 'used' to fish on the Niagara Navigator web site ...so many changes to the landscape 'now days' . These maps go back to 1934 (check out Jordan) & I find some years show better shots of weed beds in local waters which I still find handy . I checked my local area on some maps to find only a few houses on my street plus many acres of grapes and fields , now filled solid with houses ,etc. Makes me feel like an antique ... ....here's an 'oldy' of Port.....
